Birds

During the day, if you look out your window, you might be lucky to spot a raptor. In the world, there are five different types of raptors: eagles, hawks, falcons, vultures, and owls. All of these raptors have three things in common: excellent eye sight, long talons for catching prey, and beaks for ripping up flesh. At Arastradero Preserve, you are fortunate to have the opportunity to see all of the raptors except for an eagle.  Hiking there, you have a solid chance of encountering hawks, falcons, and vultures. Owls, on the other hand, are very rare, but on occasion, you might be able to catch a glimpse of one during the evening.
