In the late Spring, Summer and Fall, I often venture into nature to catch a rare glimpse of a snake. As I step closer, most slither away frightened of me, but in some rare instances, they will hold their ground in a defensive position. They vary in color from a vivid green, to a camouflaged black-ish brown. Oftentimes, you won't see them until a hissing sound signals their presence. The Pearson-Arastradero Preserve is home to a variety of reptiles like snakes, lizards, and a few rare others.
